Tennessee father files lawsuit in wrongful death case

Drive along any road with serious curves or drop-offs and one will usually notice a guardrail. These steel fences are in place to keep vehicles from going over the edge and hopefully save the life of those inside the car. One Tennessee family recently filed a lawsuit against the maker of a particular guardrail after their daughter was killed in a car accident. The family claims that this wrongful death could have been prevented.

Cab drivers victims in Tennessee car accidents

Tennessee roads can be a very dangerous place, whether one is driving for personal errands or for work. Other drivers, road conditions and the weather can all factor in to making the operation of a motor vehicle a sometimes treacherous endeavor. Should a motorist become distracted while diving, the consequences for the driver as well as other motorists on the road can be devastating, as the chances for car accidents increases.

Sunroofs make the list for dangerous products in Tennessee

When shopping for a new car in Tennessee, those in the market for a new vehicle may have an idea of the additional options that they would like to see in their new car. Heated seats, Bluetooth capabilities and a sunroof are some of the additional options that can make a car look nice and allow the driver a sense of comfort while operating the vehicle. But some of these additional options can be harmful or hazardous; in fact, one vehicle upgrade has fallen on at least one dangerous products list.

Whistleblower protection under SOX

Tennessee workers are covered by various federal laws that protect them from discrimination and ensure that they are treated and paid fairly. Whistleblowing, which in legal terms means reporting an employer for some violation of the law or of safety standards, is protected as well. This means that if an employee fires or retaliates against an employee who blew the whistle, the employer is breaking the law, and the employee could bring a legal case against the employer. The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 is one of the laws that protects corporate whistleblowers.

Tennesse car accidents claim the lives of 2 more

Traffic laws and speed restrictions are in place on all roads to help ensure that drivers and their passengers arrive safely at their intended destinations. Most people who operate a motor vehicle are on the defensive when they drive, which helps in decreasing the likelihood of car accidents in Tennessee. Some drivers become distracted or get behind the wheel while they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Wrongful death case possible following Tennessee crash

Even knowing of the fragility of life, the sudden death of a loved one is typically always difficult for family members. Often when the loss is the result of a preventable accident, families find it even more difficult to come to terms with their loss. Unfortunately, a family in Tennessee may be considering their legal options -- including filing a wrongful death lawsuit -- after a fatal car accident.
