Cab drivers victims in Tennessee car accidents

On Behalf of | Oct 25, 2017 | Car Accidents

Tennessee roads can be a very dangerous place, whether one is driving for personal errands or for work. Other drivers, road conditions and the weather can all factor in to making the operation of a motor vehicle a sometimes treacherous endeavor. Should a motorist become distracted while diving, the consequences for the driver as well as other motorists on the road can be devastating, as the chances for car accidents increases.

A 55-year-old male cab driver was stopped at an intersection waiting on a light to change. His cab van was suddenly rear-ended by another work van. The driver of the van cab was pronounced dead around 4 p.m by attending authorities.

A passenger in the cab van was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries. The two passengers in the offending vehicle were also transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Victims of car accidents may be able to seek monetary compensation for injuries suffered due to a negligent driver. Injured passengers may be awarded monies to help cover any medical expenses incurred and lost wages that are a direct result of the auto accident. Loved ones of a victim who lost his or her life in a car accident are also eligible to file a wrongful death claim in a civil court. With the aid of an experienced Tennessee attorney, victims of car accidents can receive guidance and assistance in the processes required to seek damages, if applicable.
