Driving is a significant responsibility. As car accidents can cause significant harm — often to completely innocent people who happen to be in the area — it is extremely important for all drivers to remain vigilant at all times. Unfortunately, a recent crash in Tennessee injured five people, according to reports.

The incident happened one evening on a day in March. According to witnesses, a northbound vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a southbound vehicle head-on. Unfortunately, another vehicle become involved in the accident when it struck the rear of one of the vehicles.

Five people reportedly suffered serious injuries. Fortunately, the injuries do not seem to be life-threatening. The collision resulted in lane closures for several hours. It is unclear if police anticipate criminal charges as a result of the collision.

Injuries suffered in car accidents can have a major impact on the lives of those people involved, often requiring a significant amount of medical interventions that can become costly. While recovering, many victims in Tennessee are unable to work. In certain situations, some are unable to return to work in the same capacity. To help cope with these financial ramifications, those injured by another driver’s negligence often choose to file a personal injury lawsuit. Such action could result in an award of damages that will provide for both medical bills and lost wages; by doing so, these victims can focus on their long-term recovery, ensuring that they receive appropriate medical care, rather than feeling stress over their ability to meet their financial obligations.
