Tennessee car accidents: Motorcyclist killed in collision

There are a variety of different ways to legally utilize Tennessee roadways. Pedestrians, bicyclists and motorcyclists are entitled to safely use the roads for transportation. However, because of their smaller size, these vehicles may be more difficult to see, meaning that drivers of motor vehicles must remain vigilant to help prevent serious car accidents.

Unfortunately, a 38-year-old motorcyclist in Tennessee has recently lost his life in a collision with a sedan. Police reports indicate that a 90-year-old driver of a sedan attempted to turn left into the path of the motorcycle. As a result, the two were involved in a T-bone collision.

The motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident. An 89-year-old passenger in the sedan required extrication and was transported to the hospital in serious, but stable condition. The elderly driver was also evaluated at the hospital. It is unclear if criminal charges are expected to be filed as a result of the crash, but the incident likely remains under investigation.

Families who lose loved ones unexpectedly are often not prepared for the financial ramifications of their loss. Many may struggle as a result of funeral costs and lost wages. Some families who lost loved ones in car accidents caused by another's negligence seek recompense in a civil court. An attorney with experience in handlng such cases can help victims in Tennessee fully understand their legal options and seek appropriate action. While a verdict in their favor will not lessen their grief, it can help reduce some of the stress in their lives allowing them to focus on their emotional recovery.
