Car accidents involving motorcycles hard to anticipate

On Behalf of | Oct 17, 2018 | Car Accidents

Traffic accidents can happen anywhere at any time in Tennessee. With so much more traffic on the roads it can be more difficult to anticipate every eventuality. Any car accident can happen in the blink of an eye, but car accidents involving motorcycles can be almost impossible to anticipate as motorcycles are sometimes difficult to see.

A motorcycle was involved in a fatal car crash on a recent Friday evening near Knoxville. The accident occurred at Washington Pike and McCampbell Drive. The motorcyclist, on a Harley-Davidson, was traveling along the road when a Nissan Altima made a left turn in front of him. The bike collided with the car.

The man riding the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the police report, it was not certain that the man had been wearing a helmet. There have been no charges filed yet, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Motorcycles are a popular form of transportation and their numbers are increasing on area roads in Tennessee. When a loved one dies in a motorcycle accident the family’s concern will be for the well-being of the surviving family members. A family affected by the death of a loved one due to car accidents or motorcycle accidents may benefit from speaking with a personal injury attorney. A lawyer can review the facts of the accident and may be able to determine if a civil suit against the party deemed responsible is a viable option. A successfully litigated claim can provide compensation for final costs, medical costs and other verifiable losses.
