A suspended license doesn't stop car accidents

Traffic laws exist in an attempt to keep drivers in Tennessee safe. This includes penalties for not following the laws that can result in the suspension of a person's license. Sadly, a person whose license has been suspended may violate the order and pose a risk to him or herself or to other drivers. Car accidents may result.

A driver of a Ford F-150, who was driving with a suspended license, struck a Honda CRV on Bell Road and caused the CRV to lose control. The Honda hit a concrete wall, spun out of control and collided with Ford Expedition. The driver of the Honda CRV was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she later died. The accident happened around 9 p.m.

The driver of the F-150 was not injured. According to the police report, the driver has one previous conviction for a DUI. The cause of the accident is under investigation although alcohol is suspected of being a contributing factor.

The sudden loss of a loved one as a result of a vehicle accident in Tennessee can be a traumatic event. Feelings of anger, shock and grief may be unbearable for a time, and as these feelings subside, the family may wish to seek some answers. Seeking advice and counsel from an experienced personal injury attorney may help to bring some closure to grieving relatives. An experienced lawyer can review the circumstances of car accidents and help a family to determine if a civil suit against the person or persons deemed responsible is an option. Though nothing can bring the loved one back, a successful claim may help with medical costs, final expenses and other verifiable losses.
