As the weather warms in Tennessee and across the country, there will likely be more people using the roadways in ways other than as a traditional motor vehicle. For example, many motorcyclists are taking advantage of rising temperatures and enjoying the weather. While drivers should always be vigilant, taking extra precautions may be appropriate as the weather warms. Unfortunately, one man was recently killed in an accident that could ultimately result in a wrongful death lawsuit.
The incident happened at approximately 9 p.m. on a day in early April. Reports indicate that a motorcycle driven by a 26-year-old man slammed into a pickup truck whose driver was attempting a left turn. The force of the impact ejected the motorcyclist and threw him approximately 100 feet.
Even though he was wearing a helmet, the motorcyclist passed away as a result of injuries suffered in the collision. According to the Tennessee Highway patrol, the driver of the pickup was uninjured. Criminal charges are pending in regard to the accident.
The vast majority of people in Tennessee are likely unprepared for the unexpected death of a family member. Due to lost wages and funeral expenses, families often become overwhelmed by the financial burdens associated with such a loss.
